Returns and Refund Policy
Returns & Refund Policy
Last updated: 20 August 2026
Thank you for purchasing from the Wesley Baker Book Shop. We want you to be delighted with your books and take great care when preparing and sending every order.
This Returns & Refund Policy explains your rights and how to contact us if there is a problem with your order.
1. Returns and Your Right to Cancel
If you purchase a standard, non-personalised book through our online shop, you have the right to change your mind and cancel your purchase within 14 days of receiving your order.
To exercise your right to cancel, please contact us within 14 days of receiving your order and let us know that you wish to return it.
Once you have notified us, you have a further 14 days to return the item to us.
Returned books should be kept in good condition and securely packaged for their return journey.
2. Signed Books
Books that have been signed by Wesley Baker but have not been individually personalised for you may be returned under the standard cancellation provisions above.
However, where a book has been specifically personalised at your request, for example with your name, a dedication, special message or other personalised inscription, it is considered a personalised item and cannot normally be returned or refunded simply because you have changed your mind.
This does not affect your statutory rights if a personalised or signed book is faulty, damaged, incorrectly supplied or not as described.
3. Damaged, Faulty or Incorrect Books
We take great care when packing our books, but occasionally something can go wrong during delivery.
If your book arrives damaged, is faulty, is not as described, or you receive the wrong book, please contact us as soon as possible.
Please provide:
-
Your name
-
Your order number
-
A brief description of the problem
-
Photographs showing any damage, where appropriate
We will then arrange an appropriate replacement or refund in accordance with your statutory rights.
Where an item is faulty, damaged or incorrectly supplied, we will cover reasonable return postage costs where a return is required.
4. Return Postage for Change-of-Mind Returns
Where you are returning a non-faulty item because you have changed your mind, you are responsible for the cost of returning the item to us.
We recommend obtaining proof of postage when returning an order, as we cannot be responsible for items that are lost during return delivery.
Please do not send a return until you have contacted us and received the appropriate return instructions.
5. Refunds
Once your return has been received and checked, we will process your refund using the original payment method.
Where you have exercised your statutory right to cancel an online purchase, any applicable standard outbound delivery charge will also be refunded. If you selected a more expensive or premium delivery service, we are only required to refund the equivalent cost of our standard delivery option.
Refunds will be processed within the timescales required by UK consumer law.
Depending on your bank or payment provider, it may take additional time for the refund to appear in your account after it has been processed.
6. Exchanges
If you have received the wrong book or your book has arrived damaged, we may be able to arrange a replacement rather than a refund.
Please contact us before returning anything so that we can arrange the most appropriate solution.
7. Order Cancellations Before Dispatch
If you wish to cancel or amend an order before it has been dispatched, please contact us as soon as possible.
We will always try to accommodate your request. However, if a personalised inscription has already been completed, cancellation may no longer be possible.
8. How to Request a Return
To request a return, please contact us through the contact details provided on the Wesley Baker Book Shop website.
Please include your order number and the email address used when placing your order.
We will provide you with the relevant return instructions.
Please do not return books without contacting us first.
9. Your Statutory Rights
Nothing in this Returns & Refund Policy limits or excludes any rights you have under applicable UK consumer law, including the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013.
Goods supplied must be as described, of satisfactory quality and fit for purpose.
